View On Money

givingHave you noticed that churches have many different views regarding money?  Many people are very uncomfortable discussing and addressing the topic of money and the church.  Because God is truly our Source, we aren’t uncomfortable discussing the topic of money at all.  At The HOUSE we believe that everything we have belongs to God.  We believe God has entrusted to every Christian to be a wise steward over the money and possessions He provides for us.  As God’s stewards, we will all be held accountable to how we use that which God provides. God’s Steward Defined: A person or group of persons placed in a position of authority to manage someone else’s property.
Money Principles
1. All things belong to God. -Ps. 50:7-12
2. God has appointed man to be a steward of His goods with ownership rights. -Gen. 1:28 / Matt. 25:14-30
3. Theft and/or coveting another’s goods is wrong. -Ex. 20:15 / Ex. 20:17
4. Skills and the ability to work comes from God. -Ex. 35:30-35 5. Work is profitable, good, and to be pursued; laziness is not. -Prov. 10:4 / Prov. 14:23 / Prov. 28:19
6. Love God not goods. -Matt.6:19-21, 24
7. Giving our goods to those in need demonstrates the compassion and generosity of God. -Eph. 4:8
Tithes & Offerings
Financial giving can be divided into two categories: tithes and offerings. The Bible teaches us that we worship the Lord with our tithe, which is ten percent of our income contributed to the church on a regular basis. When we feel called to give over and above our tithe, we do so as an offering. Simply put, the generous giving of God’s people enables the church as a whole to help more people to experience a life-changing relationship with Him. We are truly grateful for all who partnered with the Gospel in their giving.  Thank you for helping The HOUSE continue to reach people with the life-giving message of Jesus.
No Pressure
You will never be pressured to give money at The HOUSE.  In fact, we encourage new guests to The HOUSE not to give anything and just allow the service be our gift to them. We understand that if people want to give to continue the message and ministry of Jesus then they will.  We see giving to the cause of Christ as an opportunity not an obligation.  Everyone has the opportunity to give but nobody will ever feel obligated to give.
